H.R. No. 1548
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Loved ones are mourning the untimely passing of
Alice Marie Hamilton of Waco, who died on March 14, 2011, at the age
of 59; and
WHEREAS, Born on July 30, 1951, Ms. Hamilton shared a
rewarding marriage with her husband, Alvin "Moby" Hamilton, Sr.,
and took great pride in her two beloved children, Alvin and Alton;
and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as an eligibility supervisor with
the Health and Human Services Commission, Ms. Hamilton oversaw the
work of 17 employees; even on the most stressful days she maintained
a calm and down-to-earth manner, and her unfailing patience,
stellar work ethic, and radiant smile endeared her to colleagues
throughout the course of her nearly two decades as a state employee;
over the years, she established warm friendships with her
coworkers, as well as with fellow congregants at Mt. Sinai Baptist
Church; and
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Alice Hamilton
will remember the way she touched their lives with her sweet nature,
kindness, and gentle sense of humor, and she will forever hold a
treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Alice Marie
Hamilton and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
to her husband, Alvin "Moby" Hamilton, Sr.; to her sons, Alvin
"Taddy" Hamilton, Jr., and Alton Hamilton; to her sister, Joan
Vinson; to her brother, Willie Earl Derrough; and to her many other
relatives and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alice
Hamilton.
