 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Trent's Retreat is a nonprofit foundation that was
 established in 2009 with the mission of providing, at no charge, a
 retreat for families who have a child with pediatric cancer, and the
 facility will have its official opening on July 16, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, Located along Elm Creek on 46 acres near Ballinger,
 Trent's Retreat provides a cabin where pediatric cancer patients
 and their families may spend time together, taking a temporary
 vacation from cancer and from the daily stress of coping with the
 illness; and
 WHEREAS, This exceptional initiative was established in
 memory of Trent William Ueckert, who was diagnosed with a rare form
 of childhood cancer at the age of 13; determined to continue living
 as a normal teenager, Trent attended school, played football, rode
 his dirt bike, and visited with his friends throughout his two-year
 battle with the disease; known for his positive attitude and
 ever-present smile, he embraced the motto "Go Big Or Go Home"; and
 WHEREAS, A fitting tribute to Trent Ueckert's spirited life,
 Trent's Retreat will help families create lasting memories as they
 share a welcome respite in a safe and enjoyable country setting;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of Trent's Retreat and
 extend to all those associated with the facility sincere best
 wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Trent's Retreat as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
