No. 1611 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to a close when Irwin Ira Steinberg of Irving passed away on April 9, 2011, at the age of 84; and WHEREAS, Mr. Steinberg graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1950 and went on to serve with distinction as a member of the army; during his tenure, he earned the rank of first lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star for his exceptional work in behalf of his country; and WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Steinberg enjoyed many happy years with his wife, Mary; he cherished his sons, Laurence and Andrew, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Benjamin, Malcolm, and Madeline; and WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in the friendship and love of Irwin Steinberg will always remember him with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Irwin Ira Steinberg and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Mary Jabin Steinberg; to his sons, Laurence Steinberg and his wife, Wendy, and Andrew Steinberg and his wife, Roxann; to his grandchildren, Benjamin, Malcolm, and Madeline Steinberg; to his sister, Dorothy Gottesman; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Irwin Ira Steinberg.
