R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 67th wedding anniversary is a celebration of love
that has stood the test of time, and after more than six decades
together, James Louis and Mary Jean Pickney continue to bring out
the best in one another and to inspire all who share in the richness
of their lives; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pickney were united in matrimony on
April 22, 1944, and for the past 12 years, they have been residents
of the Wills Point area; and
WHEREAS, They have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has
been made even richer with the addition of three children, James
Louis Pickney, Jr., Edward Lee Pickney, and Sarah Ellen Mayo; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past 67 years, this devoted husband and wife have
remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate James and Jean Pickney on their
67th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
