 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Members of the Rotary District 1650 Group Study
 Exchange program from Brittany, France, are visiting the State
 Capitol on May 9, 2011, as part of their tour with Central Texas
 Rotary District 5870; and
 WHEREAS, Group Study Exchanges are one of the initiatives
 sponsored by Rotary International, a worldwide service club
 organization with more than 1.2 million members who work to provide
 education and job training, combat hunger, improve health and
 sanitation, and promote peace; since 1985, Rotary International has
 also been a leader in the fight to eradicate polio, and has joined
 forces with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Health
 Organization in this effort; and
 WHEREAS, A unique cultural and vocational opportunity, the
 Group Study Exchange program gives young professionals between the
 ages of 25 and 40 the chance to visit and learn more about another
 country and to observe how their vocations are practiced abroad;
 and
 WHEREAS, Central Texas Rotary District 5870 is made up of
 approximately 60 clubs, with about 14 in the Austin area, and is
 ably led by district governor Ruth Allison; its members are hosting
 District 1650 Rotarians Amandine Perret, Delphine Roul, Marie Laure
 Plu, Stéphane Cadieu, David Charretuer, and Pierre Weickert from
 May 7 through June 5, 2011; and
 WHEREAS, The Group Study Exchange program provides
 participants with exceptional opportunities to share viewpoints
 and expertise, gain valuable insights, and build bonds of greater
 understanding with people from all around the world, and Rotary
 members are to be commended for sponsoring this worthy endeavor;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby welcome the members of the Rotary District 5870
 and Rotary District 1650 Group Study Exchange program to the State
 Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and
 memorable visit; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
