H.R. No. 1687
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharing a deep bond of love that has spanned six
decades, Emmitt and Barbara Clampitt of Lubbock celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary on March 17, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Emmitt Clampitt and the former Barbara
George exchanged the vows of matrimony in Denton on that memorable
day in 1951, and over the course of their marriage, they have found
in each other a devoted life partner; and
WHEREAS, The couple count among their blessings a fine family
that includes 3 children and their spouses, Kathy and Danny Knox,
Harold and Carolyn Clampitt, and Gaya and Brady Perkins, as well as
7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, with whom they treasure
sharing the many special occasions of life; and
WHEREAS, Looking back over the past six decades, Emmitt and
Barbara Clampitt can savor a wealth of cherished family memories
and know that the strength of their love and commitment ensures that
many more joyful times await them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Emmitt and Barbara Clampitt on
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
