 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The boys' golf teams of Waxahachie High School
 dominated their opponents at the 2011 district tournament and
 advanced to the regionals, where they also made a fine showing; and
 WHEREAS, In the District 15-4A competition held on April 11
 and 12 at Country View Golf Course in Lancaster, Waxahachie High
 entered two teams, and they finished first and second with scores of
 618 and 668; the Indians also had the three top individual scores in
 the tournament, as Billy Ott led the field with a 150 while his
 teammates Robert Keith and Ryan Galligan shot a 151 and a 154,
 respectively; those three golfers, along with Bailey Bass, Kyle
 Yates, and Colton Shelnutt, received All-District honors; and
 WHEREAS, On the strength of their district play, both Indian
 teams qualified for the University Interscholastic League 4A Region
 II tournament at Robson Ranch in Denton; Waxahachie was the only
 school at the event to be represented by two squads; and
 WHEREAS, The two-day event was played on April 20 and 21, with
 Team I shooting a 640 to finish third overall while Team II had a
 combined score of 694 and placed 11th; once again, Mr. Ott paced the
 Indians, this time shooting a 155, good for an eighth-place tie in
 the tournament; head coach Ron Siebert also received strong
 performances from the other members of Team I: Mr. Keith, Mr.
 Galligan, Mr. Bass, and Cody Martin; the Team II lineup included Mr.
 Yates, Mr. Shelnutt, Hunter Williams, Luke Wilson, and Gunther
 Strength; and
 WHEREAS, These talented student-athletes are a source of
 great pride to their supporters in the local community, and their
 strong finish to the season is indeed deserving of recognition;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Waxahachie High School boys'
 golf teams on their success at the 2011 district and regional
 tournaments and extend sincere best wishes to the players, coaches,
 and staff for continued achievement; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the teams as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
