H.R. No. 1788
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Texas House of Representatives is pleased to
commemorate May 1 through 7, 2011, as Public Service Recognition
Week; and
WHEREAS, Honoring public administrators who serve in
federal, state, and local government, this annual event is
sponsored by the American Society for Public Administration, an
organization that promotes professional development for public
administrators, educators, and students; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the group's CenTex chapter honors
individuals who have made exceptional contributions in their field,
presenting awards for Public Administrator of the Year, Emerging
Public Administrator Professional of the Year, Elected Official of
the Year, and
Public Administrator Educator, as well as for
research in the field of public administration; and
WHEREAS, Public administrators are dedicated to improving
the quality of life for their fellow citizens, and their vital work
helps to make the Lone Star State a better place in which to live and
work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby recognize May 1-7, 2011, as Public Service
Recognition Week in Texas and honor all those associated with this
worthwhile event.
