 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army First Lieutenant
 Robert Forrest Welch III of Denton suffered an immeasurable loss
 with the death of this valiant soldier on April 3, 2011, at the age
 of 26; and
 WHEREAS, Assigned to the 201st Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd
 Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Lieutenant Welch was
 killed while serving his country in Afghanistan; and
 WHEREAS, Born on October 30, 1984, to Robert and Barbara
 Welch, Robby Welch grew up in Wylie, where he played football,
 participated in Junior ROTC, and served as a leader in his church
 youth group; after graduating from the local high school in 2003, he
 earned his bachelor's degree in military science from The
 University of Texas at Arlington; and
 WHEREAS, He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2008,
 and his skill and dedication to duty earned him many honors,
 including the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service
 Medal, the Bronze Star, and the Purple Heart; and
 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Robby Welch was blessed
 with the support of a loving family, which included his wife, Becky,
 his son, Robert, and his nephew, Aaden; and
 WHEREAS, Through his unwavering dedication to duty and honor,
 Lieutenant Welch embodied the highest ideals of the United States
 armed forces, and his fellow citizens owe him a debt of gratitude
 that the passage of time can never diminish; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army First
 Lieutenant Robert Forrest Welch III and extend deepest sympathy to
 the members of his family: to his wife, Becky Welch; to his son,
 Robert Welch IV; to his nephew, Aaden Vann; to his parents, Robert
 Welch II and Barbara Welch; to his sister, Jane Welch; to his
 grandmother, Margarete Westenburg; and to his other relatives and
 many friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of First
 Lieutenant Robert Forrest Welch III.
