82R22054 MGR-D By: Anderson of McLennan H.R. No. 1940 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Edna E. Henderson Anderson of Waco, who passed away on April 5, 2011, at the age of 94; and WHEREAS, Born to Rufus and Amanda Evans on August 1, 1916, in the Rosenthal community of McLennan County, Edna Anderson was a longtime employee of the Waco-McLennan County Library; she secured the library's first bookmobile and drove it herself, and she also played an instrumental role in the establishment of branch libraries; and WHEREAS, In her free time, Mrs. Anderson wrote three novels and published poetry; she also wrote music and played the violin and guitar; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed a fulfilling marriage with her husband, Joe Henderson, and they became the parents of three children, Joe, David, and Paul; after Mr. Henderson's death, this esteemed woman was fortunate enough to find love a second time; she married Burton Anderson and shared her life with him until his passing; and WHEREAS, Edna Anderson inspired countless people with her love for the written word, her engagement in the world around her, and her generosity of spirit, and she leaves behind a legacy to treasure for those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Edna E. Henderson Anderson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her sons, Joe L. Henderson and his wife, Dorinda, David Henderson and his wife, Josfine, and Paul Henderson and his wife, Diane; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Steve, Angela, Clay, Scott and Leslie, Jason and Jennifer, and Stephanie and Mike; to her great-grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Lauren, Heath and Kayla, Crystal, Seth, Jesse, Tyler, and Tyler; to her great-great-grandchildren, Gabby Lou and Cooper; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edna Anderson.
