 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dr. Patrick J. Hanford is being installed as
 president of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association on June 18,
 2011; and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of Angelo State University and the Texas
 College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Hanford completed his
 postgraduate training at Phoenix General Hospital in Arizona and
 Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center; he is certified by
 the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice and received his
 Fellow Award in Family Practice from the American College of
 Osteopathic Family Physicians in 2001; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed physician opened his private practice
 in 1985 and began treating patients at KingsPark Urgent Care at
 KingsPark Family Health Center in 2006; for more than 15 years, he
 has been a clinical instructor at Texas Tech University Health
 Sciences Center and a faculty instructor at the Texas College of
 Osteopathic Medicine; TCOM presented him with its Dean's Award for
 Distinguished Service in 2008; and
 WHEREAS, Through the years, Dr. Hanford has served in
 numerous leadership roles with TOMA and other professional
 organizations, among them the Texas Society of the American College
 of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American College of
 Osteopathic Family Physicians; he serves as a volunteer physician
 at the Lubbock Impact Free Clinic and as a member of the boards of
 the Lubbock Osteopathic Fund and Women's Protective Services; and
 WHEREAS, In accepting this new challenge as president of
 TOMA, Patrick Hanford has demonstrated a deep commitment to his
 professional community, and he is sure to be a strong advocate for
 the organization and its mission to advance the philosophy and
 principles of osteopathic medicine and promote high-quality health
 care; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Patrick J. Hanford on the
 occasion of his installation as president of the Texas Osteopathic
 Medical Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for a
 successful tenure; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Dr. Hanford as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
