 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, November 18, 2011, marks the 50th wedding
 anniversary of Mike and Dorothy Kight, and this joyous event
 provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable
 journey together as husband and wife; and
 WHEREAS, Both natives of Houston, Michael John Robson Kight,
 Sr., and the former Dorothy Sue Isaac first met as teenagers, and
 they began dating in their early 20s; they were joined in matrimony
 in 1961 at a ceremony held at St. Anne's Catholic Church in their
 hometown; through the years, they have been blessed with a
 treasured family that includes three sons, Michael John Robson
 Kight, Jr., and his wife, Renee, Richard Isaac Kight and his wife,
 Catherine, and William Allen Kight and his wife, Holli, as well as
 nine grandchildren, Michael John Robson Kight III, Jake William
 Kight, Anne Marie Kight, Ashley Renee Kight, Charles James Kight,
 Kristin Ann Kight, William Richard Kight, Bryan Allen Kight, and
 Dorothy Elizabeth Kight; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Kight owned and operated a Kwik Kopy Printing
 franchise in Houston for 25 years; under his direction, it became
 one of the most successful Kwik Kopy locations in the world, and he
 served on the Kwik Kopy International board of directors for 19
 years; Mrs. Kight taught school for three years before dedicating
 herself full time to her home and her family; following the couple's
 retirement in 2000, they moved to a piece of property that has been
 in their family for nearly a century on the San Bernard River near
 Sweeny; and
 WHEREAS, The five decades of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Kight
 have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and
 commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who
 know them; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Mike and Dorothy Kight on their
 golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
 for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
