H.R. No. 1999
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Michael Callegari graduated from Strake Jesuit
College Preparatory on May 23, 2010, having distinguished himself
through his superior academic and extracurricular achievements;
and
WHEREAS, A member of the National Honor Society, Mr.
Callegari won a magna cum laude certificate in the National Latin
Exam and received an English II Outstanding Achievement Award; he
served Strake Jesuit Educational Television in a number of
capacities, including director, and earned two Strake Jesuit
Educational Television Awards; in addition, he was an AutoCAD
worker and secretary for the engineering team, which won first
place in district competition, and he was a member of the Code
Crusaders computer science team, the Key Club, and the peer
ministry team; and
WHEREAS, This dynamic young Texan also served as varsity
manager for the lacrosse team and junior varsity manager for the
basketball team and as a safety on the football team, and he helped
to promote school spirit as a member of the Crusader Guard;
moreover, he played trombone in the jazz and concert bands and
obtained a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do; and
WHEREAS, Demonstrating a commitment to helping others, Mr.
Callegari attained the rank of Eagle Scout with a project that
benefited the rescue dog program of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire
Department; he volunteered his time at Camp Spike 'N' Wave and the
Ronald McDonald House and is head altar server at Christ the
Redeemer Catholic Church; industrious and highly motivated, Mr.
Callegari also found time in his busy schedule to work as a customer
service representative and software development intern; and
WHEREAS, Michael Callegari is a source of great pride to his
family and friends, and his maturity, discipline, and ability will
continue to serve him well as he embarks on an exciting new chapter
in his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Michael Callegari on his
graduation from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory and extend to him
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Callegari as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
