 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful endeavor drew to
 a close when Charles Edward Grubbs of Willis passed away on October
 3, 2009, at the age of 77; and
 WHEREAS, Born on January 9, 1932, in Jean, Charles Grubbs was
 the son of Charles and Lena Grubbs and the brother of Inez, Nora,
 Raymond, Don, Sandy, and Leroy; answering his country's call to
 duty, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country
 during the Korean War; he ultimately spent 13 years in the military
 before returning to civilian life; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Grubbs subsequently enjoyed a three-decade-long
 career with Brown & Root as an executive pilot; following his
 retirement, he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Willis, near Lake
 Conroe, where he employed his carpentry skills in remodeling homes
 and working on various building projects for his family and
 friends; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Grubbs was the father of three children, Donald
 Ray, Cathy, and Vickie, and through the years, his family grew to
 include four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one
 great-great-grandchild; and
 WHEREAS, Charles Grubbs enjoyed a life that was rich in the
 intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those
 who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Charles Edward
 Grubbs and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
 his wife, Barbara Gaeke Grubbs; to his daughters and sons-in-law,
 Cathy and Bruce French and Vickie and Chip Williams; to his sister
 and her husband, Inez and Hank Bramlett; and to his other relatives
 and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles
 Grubbs.
