 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Deputy Clifton Leigh Taylor of the Johnson County
 Sheriff's Department was killed in the line of duty on April 23,
 2011, at the age of 31, and his untimely death was a tragic loss to
 his family, to his fellow peace officers, and to the residents of
 his community; and
 WHEREAS, A native of Fort Worth, Clifton Taylor was born on
 May 4, 1979, to Randy and Rebecca Taylor; he attended Haltom and St.
 Augustine High Schools before enrolling in the Angelina College
 Police Academy, joining the Johnson County Sheriff's Department in
 January 2008; and
 WHEREAS, Deputy Taylor was known for his sense of humor and
 his ability to make others laugh; committed to his family and his
 faith, he enjoyed spending time with his nephews and attending the
 Shepherd's Valley Cowboy Church; and
 WHEREAS, This courageous Texan exemplified the highest
 standards of his profession, and he will long be remembered for his
 profound dedication to public service and his tireless efforts in
 behalf of his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Deputy Clifton Leigh
 Taylor and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
 his parents, Randy and Rebecca; to his fiancee, Rhonda Cox; to his
 brother, Christopher Taylor, and his wife, Monika; to his sister,
 Megan Davis; to his nephews, Preston and Nathan Davis and Parker
 Taylor; to his grandparents, Marvin and Margaret Taylor and Gwen
 Odom; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Deputy
 Clifton Leigh Taylor.
