 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Atascocita High School women's soccer team is
 visiting the State Capitol on January 27, 2011, and this occasion
 provides a welcome opportunity to honor its members for their
 athletic and academic achievements; and
 WHEREAS, For the fifth time, the Atascocita team has been
 invited to play in the Lady Governor's Cup; this annual tournament
 brings together 32 teams from across the state and is considered to
 be one of the most competitive in Texas; and
 WHEREAS, The Lady Eagles have also won acclaim for their
 scholastic efforts; they have been recognized with the Team
 Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of
 America for two consecutive years; this honor is given to teams that
 maintain an average GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale; last year,
 Atascocita was one of only 14 Texas high school squads to receive
 this accolade; and
 WHEREAS, These impressive young Texans have demonstrated
 remarkable determination and a true commitment to excellence, both
 on the pitch and in the classroom; they bring real meaning to the
 term "student-athlete" and have earned the respect and admiration
 of their classmates and their many supporters in the community;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Atascocita High School women's
 soccer team for being invited to play in the 11th Annual Lady
 Governor's Cup and for receiving the NSCAA Team Academic Award for
 two years in a row and extend to the players sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
