 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Betty Lou and Paul D. Marable of Waco celebrated
 their 65th wedding anniversary on April 28, 2011, and they may
 indeed reflect with joy on the rewarding relationship they have
 shared; and
 WHEREAS, Paul D. Marable, Jr., a veteran of D-Day, and the
 former Betty Lou Lewis exchanged the vows of matrimony in 1946, and
 over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other a
 loving life partner; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Marable count among their blessings
 four successful children, including Betty Sue Flowers, the former
 director of the LBJ Library and Museum in Austin, Paul Marable III,
 an attorney and former secretary of the Texas State Bar
 Association, Linda Murdock, an educator and endowment consultant
 with the Texas Methodist Foundation, and Robert Marable, a software
 engineer in New Orleans; the couple have been further blessed with
 eight grandchildren, John Michael, Brandon, Blake, Carey, John
 David, Meredith, Gibson, and Stella; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout their shared lives as a family, Mr. and
 Mrs. Marable offered their children a warm household devoted to
 reading, storytelling, and music; for six and a half decades, they
 have also brought to their marriage laughter, kindness, and
 devotion, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their enduring
 commitment; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Betty Lou and Paul D. Marable on
 their 65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
 wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Marable as an expression of high regard by
 the Texas House of Representatives.
