H.R. No. 2229
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
passing of Betty Jane Dalrymple of Waco on April 17, 2011, at the
age of 86; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Leonard and Ruby Williams, the
former "BJ" Williams was born in Otto on June 10, 1924; she grew up
in Waco and graduated from La Vega High School in 1941; in May of the
following year, she met Guy Dalrymple, and before they had finished
their first date, they had already decided to become husband and
wife; and
WHEREAS, The couple married on August 1, 1942, and they later
became the parents of three treasured sons, Stephen, Chris, and
Bill; Mrs. Dalrymple lent her support and encouragement to her
husband during his long career in hospital administration, and they
made myriad friendships all around the state; they shared a
rewarding relationship of more than a half-century before Mr.
Dalrymple's death in 1994; and
WHEREAS, When her sons married, Mrs. Dalrymple welcomed their
wives as cherished daughters, and as the years went by, she
delighted in becoming a grandmother; she adored getting to know her
grandchildren as individuals, showing them a splendid time, and
cheering them on in all their endeavors; her wonderful sense of
humor and vibrant personality endeared her to everyone, and she
made each person she encountered feel special; and
WHEREAS, BJ Dalrymple brought warmth, kindness, and joy into
innumerable lives, and those who were fortunate enough to know her
will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Betty Jane
Dalrymple and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family:
to her sons, Stephen Dalrymple and his wife, Sharon, Dr. Chris
Dalrymple and his wife, Angela, and Bill Dalrymple and his wife,
Kenda; to her grandchildren, Stephanie and Owen Bybee, Sloane and
Tol Ware, and Sarah, William, Clayton, and Erin Jane Dalrymple; to
her great-grandchildren, Owen Bybee IV and Joe Bybee; to her
brothers and their wives, Dr. and Mrs. David Williams and Dr. and
Mrs. Bill George Williams; and to her many other relatives and
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Betty Jane
Dalrymple.
