H.R. No. 2239
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and A. J. and Mickey
Uptmore celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on April
27, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore were joined in matrimony in
1946 at a ceremony held in Waco at the home of the bride's parents;
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family
that includes three children and their spouses, Danny and Vicki
Uptmore, Terry and Danida Uptmore, and Brenda and Jerry Smith, as
well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Residents of the China Spring area for most of their
married life, the Uptmores are highly respected for their service
to their church, to local schools, and to the wider community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore have enjoyed six and a half
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate A. J. and Mickey Uptmore on their
65th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Uptmore as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
