H.R. No. 2240
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
passing of Nell Yates Helka of Waco on April 17, 2011, at the age of
82; and
WHEREAS, Born in South Bosque on January 9, 1929, the former
Nell Yates was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Yates; she shared a
rewarding relationship with her husband, Vincent George Helka, and
was a loving mother to her daughter, Jan, and her son, James; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Helka was employed as a bookkeeper until her
retirement, and in her free time she enjoyed dancing; and
WHEREAS, Although Nell Helka will be deeply missed, cherished
memories of time spent in her company will long endure in the hearts
of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Nell Yates Helka and
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
daughter, Jan Hopper; to her son, James E. Hopper, Jr., and his
wife, Sherry; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nell Yates
Helka.
