R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 55th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Felipe and Corina
Martinez of Temple celebrated this joyous milestone in their
marriage on April 18, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Felipe Martinez, Sr., and the former Corina Chavez
were joined in matrimony in 1956 at a ceremony held in Belton;
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family
that includes six children and their spouses, Felipe and MaryLou
Martinez, Felix Martinez, Richard and Linda Martinez, Rosie Mata,
Greg and Mary Alice Martinez, and Minerva and John Rios, as well as
15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
Martinez have resided in the Temple area for 60 years; Mr. Martinez
is retired, and Mrs. Martinez has been a dedicated homemaker
throughout their marriage; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martinez have enjoyed five and a half
decades of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are
among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Felipe and Corina Martinez on their
55th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martinez as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
