 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation is helping to
 make a positive difference in the El Paso community; and
 WHEREAS, Established in 2007, the foundation honors the
 memory of Braden Aboud, a student at Lincoln Middle School who was
 killed in a tragic accident at the age of 14; inspired by Braden's
 passion for sports, the organization is dedicated to improving the
 health and educational development of the youth of El Paso by
 promoting physical fitness in area schools; and
 WHEREAS, Each year, the foundation hosts a Memorial Run/Walk
 to raise funds for scholarships, an annual tennis championship, and
 such vital programs as the Great Shoe Giveaway, which awards new
 tennis shoes to notable elementary students and participants in the
 B-Fit program; and
 WHEREAS, The group also benefits the greater community
 through its support of the City of El Paso Afterschool Project and
 the B-Warm Blanket Drive to collect and donate blankets to the
 homeless; and
 WHEREAS, Youth sports help to build self-esteem, confidence,
 and lifelong friendships, and the staff and volunteers of the
 Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation are to be highly commended for
 their efforts to improve the lives of young Texans; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor the Braden Aboud Memorial Foundation for
 its contributions to the El Paso community and extend to all those
 associated with this important initiative sincere best wishes for
 continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the foundation as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
