R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas are hosting
Food First Day on June 9, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Members of the organization and the community are
joining together to celebrate the Boys & Girls Clubs receipt of a
$10,000 grant from First Choice Power in partnership with the
Capital Area Food Bank of Texas that will be used to distribute 250
bags of food each week throughout the summer; and
WHEREAS, The combined efforts of these groups are helping to
address one of the most critical needs faced by residents of the
Lone Star State, and their contributions to reducing hunger are
truly worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby recognize June 9, 2011, as Food First Day and
extend to all those associated with this worthwhile event best
wishes for success with their important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Texas as an
expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
