H.R. No. 2483
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Don Thurman completed his admirable tenure as a
member of the Terrell City Council on May 17, 2011, after four years
of distinguished service; and
WHEREAS, Since 2007, Mr. Thurman helped to guide the city
with an eye to the future, and his knowledge and expertise in a wide
range of community issues earned him the respect of many people
along the way; and
WHEREAS, Retired from a successful career as an engineer, Mr.
Thurman brings a strong attention to detail to all his endeavors,
and he has also benefited the city as a member of the Tax Increment
Financing Board; and
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts
of Don Thurman have helped to make Terrell an even better place in
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Don Thurman for his notable service on the
Terrell City Council and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Thurman as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
