R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Honorable Val Clark Beard has ably served the
people of Brewster County as county judge for more than 16 years,
and the knowledge and dedication she has demonstrated over the
course of her tenure have earned her the respect of her fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Since taking office in 1995, Judge Beard has
distinguished herself through her outstanding work as presiding
officer of the commissioners court and through her astute
leadership of county government operations; before being elected
county judge, she spent two terms as county attorney; and
WHEREAS, The significant contributions of Val Beard have
helped make Brewster County an even better place in which to live,
and she may take justifiable pride in her exemplary record of
achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Judge Val Clark Beard on her notable
public service and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Judge Beard as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
