R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Honorable Laura Allen is ably serving the people
of Val Verde County as county judge; and
WHEREAS, Presently in her first term of office, Judge Allen
began her tenure in January 2011, following her election the
previous November; in one of her first official duties, she had the
pleasure of administering the oath of office to her mother, Pat
Cole, who had been elected as justice of the peace for Precinct 3;
and
WHEREAS, Since undertaking her duties, Judge Allen has
distinguished herself through her outstanding work as presiding
officer of the commissioners court and through her astute
leadership of county government operations; and
WHEREAS, The significant contributions of Laura Allen are
helping to make Val Verde County an even better place in which to
live, and she is to be commended for her dedicated efforts in behalf
of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Judge Laura Allen on her notable public
service and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Judge Allen as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
