 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Martha
 Ann Belcher of Waco, who passed away on May 9, 2011, at the age of
 75; and
 WHEREAS, Born on March 31, 1936, in Fort Worth, the former
 Martha Ann Pool was the only child of Jack and Estelle Pool; in
 1954, she moved from Houston to Waco with her parents and enrolled
 at Baylor University; she completed almost all the requirements for
 graduation before serious illness compelled her to leave school;
 and
 WHEREAS, Martha Pool and Roy Belcher exchanged their wedding
 vows on April 30, 1960, and the couple shared a devoted union of 51
 years; together with her husband, Mrs. Belcher was a valued member
 of Richfield Christian Church, and after health challenges
 prevented her from attending services, she and Mr. Belcher enjoyed
 watching church programs on television; and
 WHEREAS, Long involved with the Order of the Eastern Star,
 Mrs. Belcher was a past matron of Lorena Chapter No. 1124 and a
 50-year member of Waco Chapter No. 7; she founded the Heart O' Texas
 Hallmark Ornament Collectors Club, which generated many new
 friendships over the years, and she maintained a lasting pen pal
 relationship; and
 WHEREAS, Among the many family relationships that
 Mrs. Belcher cherished were those with her Grandmother Purser,
 Uncle Jadi, cousin Jim Purser, and cousin Betty; and
 WHEREAS, Beloved for her warmth, kindness, and generous
 spirit, Martha Belcher enriched immeasurably the lives of her
 family and friends, and they will forever hold her close in their
 hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Martha Ann Belcher and
 extend sincere condolences to her husband, Roy Belcher; to her
 husband's cousin, D'Ann Martin; to her close friend, Doris West; and
 to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Martha Ann
 Belcher.
