H.R. No. 2760
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Jim and Shara Hanson of Mineola
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 11, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Jim Hanson and the former Shara Gillentine were
united in matrimony at First Baptist Church in Van in 1961; through
the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage that has been
made even richer with the addition of two children and their
spouses, Lori Steed and her husband, Jeff, and Danny Hanson and his
wife, Lisa; the couple have also had the pleasure of seeing their
family grow to include three grandsons and two great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hanson was self-employed in the trucking
industry, and Mrs. Hanson is a retired postmaster; they spent the
first 10 years of their marriage in Irving before moving to Lone
Star, where they resided for the next three decades; in 2000, the
couple retired to Mineola, Mr. Hanson's hometown; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jim and Shara Hanson on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hanson as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
