H.R. No. 2792
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Yvette A. Moreno has been named the 2010-2011
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District Elementary
Education Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Since 2004, Ms. Moreno has been a member of the
faculty at Carman Elementary School in San Juan, where she teaches
third and fourth grades; and
WHEREAS, This dedicated educator is a graduate of PSJA High
School, and she received her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary
studies from The University of Texas-Pan American with a minor in
special education; committed to being a positive influence in the
lives of her students, Ms. Moreno gives generously of her time to an
after-school tutoring program in addition to her regular classroom
responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Serving as role models, motivators, listeners, and
mentors, our best teachers bring to the classroom creativity,
energy, and resourcefulness, and Yvette Moreno has helped inspire
in her students a love of learning that will serve them well
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Yvette Moreno on being named the
2010-2011 Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District
Elementary Education Teacher of the Year and extend to her sincere
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Moreno as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
