 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
 a close when Kathleen Jeanne Jones Gilles of Arlington died on
 January 21, 2011, at the age of 77; and
 WHEREAS, Born on October 26, 1933, in Dallas and raised in
 Wellington, the former Jeanne Jones was the daughter of Dr. Charles
 Jones, Jr., and Kathleen Patricia Hosack Jones; one of five
 children, she enjoyed the companionship of a sister, Rosemary, and
 three brothers, Charles, John, and Frank; and
 WHEREAS, After attending Sacred Heart Academy in
 Springfield, Illinois, Mrs. Gilles graduated from Saint Joseph
 Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee; she worked for a
 time as a registered nurse at Saint Paul's Hospital in Dallas, then
 relocated to Midland, where she lived for most of her life; it was
 there that she met her future husband, Gilbert Joseph Gilles, Jr.;
 the couple married on January 15, 1955, and shared nearly 40
 rewarding years together, until Mr. Gilles's passing in 1994; and
 WHEREAS, Over the course of a distinguished 23-year career at
 Midland Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Gilles served as a nursing
 supervisor and as a nurse administrator in obstetrics, the
 emergency department, and the pharmacy; in 1982, she opened We Care
 Home Health Agency with several colleagues, and she continued
 working in the home health field until her retirement at age 74; she
 moved to Arlington in 2002; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Gilles was a devoted wife, mother, and
 grandmother, and she treasured the time she spent with her family,
 which grew to include 4 children and 11 grandchildren; a longtime
 congregant of Saint Ann's Catholic Church, she enjoyed dancing,
 playing bridge, and rooting for the Texas Longhorns; and
 WHEREAS, Jeanne Gilles touched many lives during her time on
 this earth, and she will forever hold a special place in the hearts
 of those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kathleen Jeanne
 Jones Gilles and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
 family: to her children, Stephen J. Gilles and his wife, Stephanie,
 R. Michele Purgason and her husband, Thomas, Kathleen J. Clymer,
 and Susan G. Gilmore and her husband, Trey; to her grandchildren,
 Emily, Sarah, Sophia, and Gabriella Gilles, Nicholas, Ashley, and
 Michael Purgason, Taylor Clymer, and Will, Gibby, and Jackson
 Gilmore; to her brother, Frank H. Jones, and his wife, Sharon; and
 to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeanne
 Gilles.
