H.R. No. 460
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Jesse and Rosa Garcia of Temple
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 21, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Jesse Garcia and the former Rosa Delgado were united
in matrimony at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple in
1961; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage
that has been made even richer with the addition of their children,
Frankie, Jesse, Debbie, Sunday, Joe, and Ruth, as well as 17
grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Temple, the couple moved to
Southern California in the early 1960s and had the opportunity to
work and travel in Northern California, Washington, Oregon, and
Arizona; they returned to their hometown in 1974, where Mr. Garcia
was employed by the City of Temple until his retirement; Mrs. Garcia
has been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jesse and Rosa Garcia on their
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garcia as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
