H.R. No. 54
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Doyle and Doris Thomas of Kerrville
celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas exchanged the vows of matrimony
in Childers in 1940, and over the course of their marriage, they
have found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas worked for the U.S. Department of
Agriculture, retiring as district director in 1978; Mrs. Thomas has
been a dedicated homemaker throughout their marriage; and
WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the
world during the past seven decades, this devoted husband and wife
have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the
strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges
and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Doyle and Doris Thomas on their
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thomas as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
