 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
 generous spirit of Magdalena Rodriguez Ybarra of El Paso, who
 passed away on January 26, 2011, at the age of 91; and
 WHEREAS, Born in Durango, Mexico, on November 18, 1919, the
 former Magdalena Rodriguez was the daughter of Enrique Rodriguez
 and Carmen Reyes; she moved with her mother to Nebraska as a young
 child and left school early in order to help support her family; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Ybarra was the caring mother of eight children,
 Manuel, Rosa, George, Marta, Roberto, Petra, Esperanza, and Felipe;
 with the death of her husband in 1963, she became the sole provider
 for her family and through the years worked as a waitress, day-care
 attendant, and cook; and
 WHEREAS, Although her own formal education had been
 interrupted, Mrs. Ybarra had a deep love of learning and attended
 adult education classes whenever she could; she learned English
 through sheer determination and persistence and became a
 naturalized U.S. citizen; and
 WHEREAS, A humble woman, Magdalena Ybarra sought to fill any
 need she encountered without seeking recognition, and she
 consistently encouraged and lent a helping hand to others; she was a
 powerful, positive force in many lives, and she will always be
 remembered with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Magdalena Rodriguez
 Ybarra and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family:
 to her children, Manuel Rodriguez, Rosa Rodriguez, George Ybarra,
 Marta Ybarra Belden, Roberto Ybarra, Petra Corina Ybarra Smith, and
 Esperanza Ybarra; to her sister, Angelina; to her 14 grandchildren,
 9 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and to her
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Magdalena
 Ybarra.
