H.R. No. 67
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Lee Oneacre was named Dentist of the Year by the
Dallas County Dental Society on May 20, 2010; and
WHEREAS, The highest honor bestowed by the group, the Dentist
of the Year award was presented to Dr. Oneacre for his many years of
dedicated service to the Society and profession; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Oneacre graduated from Miami University and
went on to earn his DDS degree from the Ohio State University
College of Dentistry, where he completed his residency in oral and
maxillofacial surgery; he later served as chief resident at OSU
University Hospital and Children's Medical Center of Columbus
before working with the U.S. Public Health Service on the Navajo
Indian Reservation; and
WHEREAS, Highly respected and admired by his colleagues,
Dr. Oneacre has been president of the Dallas County Dental Society
and the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons,
chair of the Southwest Dental Conference, and a director and vice
president of the Texas Dental Association; in addition, he helped
to found the Dallas County Dental Society Foundation, served as a
trustee of the Southwest Medical Foundation, and was a member of the
TDA House of Delegates, where he was a valuable asset to a number of
councils and reference committees; and
WHEREAS, Today, Dr. Oneacre continues to benefit his field as
a member of the American Dental Association House of Delegates and
the ADA Council on Access, Prevention, and Interprofessional
Relations; a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of
Anesthesiology, he has further given back through his work with
Texas Mission of Mercy, providing charitable care for the
underserved; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Oneacre has earned a number of honors through
the years, including induction as a fellow of both the American and
International College of Dentists; and
WHEREAS, An outstanding doctor and dedicated leader, Lee
Oneacre is a credit to his profession, and he is truly deserving of
this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Lee Oneacre on being named 2010
Dentist of the Year by the Dallas County Dental Society and extend
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Oneacre as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
