R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, For a number of years, the bookbinding firm of H. V.
Chapman & Sons of Abilene has provided the Texas Legislature with
special Bibles embossed with the state seal, many of which are used
by the members of the House Bible Study group; and
WHEREAS, The company was started in 1947 by Homer Chapman,
who passed it along to his son, Chuck; his grandson, current owner
Stan Chapman, is the third generation to lead the operation; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to creating quality publications and to
the restoration of vintage books, the skilled craftspeople at H. V.
Chapman & Sons have made the enterprise a respected name in their
field, and the Bibles they have offered for use by the members of
this chamber are greatly appreciated; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby express its gratitude to H. V. Chapman & Sons for
providing Bibles for use by the Texas Legislature and the House
Bible Study group and extend to the company sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for H. V. Chapman & Sons as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
