 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Artist Arthur McCall of Pleasanton has been
 depicting the scenic beauty of his native South Texas for more than
 35 years; and
 WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio, Mr. McCall has been drawing and
 painting since his youth; he studied for a time at a commercial art
 school before being drafted into the U.S. Army, which he served as a
 member of the First Infantry Division in Vietnam; he later returned
 to Texas and, in 1968, joined the Texas Parks and Wildlife
 Department as a game warden; and
 WHEREAS, At the same time, Mr. McCall continued to create
 art, and the J. R. Mooney Galleries of Fine Art in San Antonio began
 handling his work in 1984; he specializes in acrylic paintings of
 the landscapes, homesteads, and historic buildings of South Texas,
 and the rich scenes have been acquired for private collections
 across the state; moreover, his work has been chosen three times for
 the cover of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo souvenir program;
 and
 WHEREAS, Mr. McCall has further distinguished himself
 through his outstanding career in public service that has spanned
 more than four decades; he is a founding member of the Texas Game
 Warden Honor Guard and was named Texas Wildlife Officer of the Year
 by Shikar-Safari Club International in 2010; and
 WHEREAS, Arthur McCall's paintings evoke the rustic charm of
 rural Texas, and his body of work represents a significant
 contribution to the cultural heritage of the Lone Star State; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Arthur McCall for his achievements as an
 accomplished artist and game warden and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. McCall as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
