 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lucia Alderete Anaya of McGregor passed away on
 March 5, 2011, at the age of 89, leaving her circle of family and
 friends to cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her
 company; and
 WHEREAS, Born in McGregor on January 9, 1922, the former
 Lucia Alderete was the daughter of Narcisso and Tomasa Ramirez
 Alderete; she married Jose Anaya on September 27, 1952, and through
 the years the couple became the parents of five children, Juan Luis,
 Juan, Diana, Bea, and Teresa; the couple spent more than two decades
 together, until Mr. Anaya's death in 1976; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Anaya worked for Westview Manor Nursing Home
 and Moody Care Center before joining Smead Manufacturing in 1978; a
 dedicated employee, she retired in 1991; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed woman delighted in spending time with
 her children, teaching them Mexican cooking and sharing with them
 her many crocheted creations; she was also a talented harmonica
 player who enjoyed playing for friends and family; moreover, she
 and her husband helped found St. Eugene Catholic Church, and Mrs.
 Anaya was a member of the church's altar society; and
 WHEREAS, Lucia Anaya lived a caring and purposeful life, and
 those who were privileged to share in her love and friendship will
 forever remember her with great tenderness and affection; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Lucia Alderete
 Anaya and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
 her children and their spouses, Juan and Tracie Anaya, Diana and
 Roger McMaster, Bea and Larry Kruse, and Teresa and Kelvin Yaun; to
 her 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and to her other
 relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lucia
 Anaya.
