                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 29, 2011      TO: Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1034 by Watson (Relating to the authority of certain political subdivisions to change the date of their general elections.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Election Code to authorize the governing body of a political subdivision, other than a county, to change the date of the general election for officers to the uniform election date in November not later than December 31, 2012. The bill would repeal Section 41.0053 of the Election Code. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
