                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 17, 2011      TO: Honorable John Whitmire, Chair, Senate Committee on Criminal Justice      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1117 by Whitmire (Relating to the prosecution of a parent contributing to the nonattendance of a public school student.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.   Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.  School districts and open-enrollment charter schools are entitled to one-half of fines paid by a parent convicted of the offense of parent contributing to nonattendance. To the extent that the bill's provisions could affect the number of convictions and fines paid, school districts and charter schools would experience changes in revenue.
