                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 23, 2011      TO: Honorable John Carona, Chair, Senate Committee on Business & Commerce      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1133 by Hegar (Relating to a report by the Public Utility Commission of Texas on the ability of electric generators to respond to abnormal weather conditions.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Utilities Code by adding a section requiring the Public Utility Commission to prepare a report on the ability of electric generators to respond to abnormal weather conditions. Based on the analysis of the Public Utility Commission it is assumed that responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
