The bill would require that contracts between managed care organizations (MCOs) and the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) under Medicaid managed care include a requirement that MCOs coordinate the care of each recipient receiving services through the MCO and certain community centers or local mental health or mental retardation authority with the community center, as applicable. The bill would also require the local mental health or mental retardation authority to develop a local service area plan that includes strategies that are designed to coordinate the care of certain consumers with the MCO. According to HHSC, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
