                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 2, 2011      TO: Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1235 by West (Relating to real property that is subject to restrictive covenants and the operation of property owners' associations of subdivisions that are subject to restrictive covenants.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Property Code relating to certain procedures, powers, and operations of property owners' associations which are not units of local governments; however, certain provisions grant courts specific authority in legal proceedings. The bill would be effective January 1, 2012. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
