The bill would remove the 440 yard distance restriction for a concrete crushing facility located: within 25 miles of an international border; within a county contiguous with the Gulf of Mexico; in a municipality with a population of not less than 6,100 but not more than 100,000; and within one mile of a United States highway. Passage of the bill is not expected to have a fiscal impact on the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality or the Department of Transportation.
