The bill would amend the Civil Practices and Remedies Code to authorize the commissioners court of a county to establish an alternative dispute resolution system as defined by the provisions of the bill. According to the Office of Court Administration, the provisions of the bill may provide for a more efficient manner with which to resolve disputes for governmental entities, but the number of these cases would not be significant; therefore, no significant fiscal impact is anticipated.
