                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION   Revision 1         April 20, 2011      TO: Honorable Judith Zaffirini, Chair, Senate Committee on Higher Education      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1348 by Van de Putte (relating to higher education curriculum review teams to review public school curriculum standards for college readiness purposes.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would create higher education curriculum review teams that would be required to review the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for subjects in the required curriculum and to make recommendations to the State Board of Education prior to adoption of new TEKS. The Texas Education Agency would be required to post the recommendations on its web site. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
