                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 22, 2011      TO: Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1354 by Carona (Relating to the regulation of off-premise signs in the unincorporated area of a county.), As Introduced    No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a commissioners court of a county to prohibit off-premise signs along roads in the unincorporated area of a county, but could not require the removal of existing signs before the effective date of the bill. Prior to the issuance of an order, the commissioners court would be required to hold a public hearing and publish a notice of the hearing in a newspaper.
