The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require an offenders arrest be reported to the Department of Public Safety not later than the second day after the date of the arrest. Under current statute, the requirement is not later than the seventh day. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
