                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 19, 2011      TO: Honorable Sid Miller, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1600 by Whitmire (Relating to the registration of peace officers as private security officers.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Occupations Code related to the registration of peace officers as private security officers. The bill would take immediate effect upon receiving two-thirds votes of all members in each house, otherwise taking effect September 1, 2011. This analysis assumes that any costs associated with implementing the bill's provisions could be met with existing resources. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
