       AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT   Prairie View A&M University is not eligible to participate in either the Tier 1 Research Fund or the Research Development Fund. Prairie View A&M University is the only state university that does not participate in either research fund. S.B. 1624 enables Prairie View A&M University to participate in the Research Development Fund.    As proposed, S.B. 1624 amends current law relating to Prairie View A&M University's eligibility to participate in the research development fund.   RULEMAKING AUTHORITY   This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.    SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS   SECTION 1. Amends Section 62.003(1), Education Code, to define,  except as otherwise provided by Subchapters C (Research University Development Fund), D (Performance Incentive Funding), E (Research Development Fund), F (Texas Research Incentive Program (TRIP)), and G (National Research University Fund), "eligible  institution."   SECTION 2. Amends Section 62.092(2), Education Code, to redefine "eligible institution."   SECTION 3. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2011.

Prairie View A&M University is not eligible to participate in either the Tier 1 Research Fund or the Research Development Fund. Prairie View A&M University is the only state university that does not participate in either research fund. S.B. 1624 enables Prairie View A&M University to participate in the Research Development Fund. 

 

As proposed, S.B. 1624 amends current law relating to Prairie View A&M University's eligibility to participate in the research development fund.

SECTION 1. Amends Section 62.003(1), Education Code, to define,  except as otherwise provided by Subchapters C (Research University Development Fund), D (Performance Incentive Funding), E (Research Development Fund), F (Texas Research Incentive Program (TRIP)), and G (National Research University Fund), "eligible  institution."

 

SECTION 2. Amends Section 62.092(2), Education Code, to redefine "eligible institution."

 

SECTION 3. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2011.
