                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 82ND LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 11, 2011      TO: Honorable John Davis, Chair, House Committee on Economic & Small Business Development      FROM: John S O'Brien, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1714 by Duncan (Relating to certain actions against an employer by an employee who is not covered by workers' compensation insurance.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to certain actions against an employer by an employee who is not covered by workers compensation insurance. Based on the analysis by the Texas Department of Insurance, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
